UPDATE: Truck cargo traffic between Russia, Poland can stop Feb 1
(Adds details in headline, lede, last paragraph)
MOSCOW, Jan 29 (PRIME) -- The truck traffic between Russia and Poland can stop on February 1 because of a discord over the new Russian cargo traffic rules between Moscow and Warsaw, according to a statement of the Association of International Automobile Carriers (ASMAP) released Friday.
On Wednesday, Russia’s Transport Ministry said that it received a letter from Poland’s deputy minister of infrastructure and development who said that Poland objects to new Russian cargo traffic rules because they increase the level of government control over the business.
The Russian ministry said: “The Polish side refuses to give any concrete proposals regarding the exchange of permits (for truck cargo traffic) for this year, demanding as an ultimatum that the federal law … be changed for Polish transport operators.”
According to ASMAP, entrance in Poland under the permits given in 2015 will become prohibited from February 1.
